Our rights and freedoms

Millions of people have been able to shape their lives in freedom and prosperity thanks to the EU. The EU has shown its resilience in times of crisis time and time again, taking action on COVID-19, the war in Ukraine and more.

At the same time, the coming enlargement process is a clear opportunity to reform the EU. In that process, we will pay attention to:

  • Further democratization of the European institutions and strengthening the power of the European Parliament;

  • Protection of the EU citizens’(political) rights, wherever they are in Europe -  to live, work or study.

A liveable future for everyone

If we want to tackle climate change effectively and holistically, we need to pay attention to biodiversity, human rights and animal wellbeing. We can achieve this through:

  • The EU Biodiversity and Farm to Fork strategies, and reform of the Common Agricultural Policy;

  • Translation of these complex plans into concrete action, to make consumers’ lives easier.

Think European for energetic regions

There are opportunities for making the voice of our regions heard in Europe, and Europe to our regions. We need to invest more in:

  • Sustainable, affordable public transportation that connects Europeans with each other and the rest of the world, regardless of where we live. The Lelylijn is a crucial link in this;

  • The protection and promotion of minority languages, which are critical to our rich European history and identity.
